====== Imaging Technology Gets Drive Analytics ======

The [[:glossary:ct|disk imaging software]] has been updated with a "drive analyser", which allows inspecting the characteristics of the drive and contains important information for when a dumped disk fails to be read. The following tests are carried out:

  * System Type
    * PAL/NTSC
  * Step Head Delay
    * Calculates the amount of time one [[:glossary:cylinder|cylinder]] movement takes for the head stepping motor in the drive.
  * Track Capability
    * Type, [[:glossary:track|track]] step timing, tracks available, etc.
  * Drive Motor Ready Delay
    * READY signal checking and spin up time, drive motor RPM, maximum cylinder supported by the drive.
