====== Cylinder ======

In the case of normal floppy disks, this refers to the respective [[glossary:track|tracks]] on either side of the disk.

In a wider sense a cylinder refers to all the tracks that can be accessed at the same physical location (i.e. head position) of a disk by changing the vertical position or side used by the head.
