====== Can I convert .RAW files to .IPF so that an emulator can use them? ======

Currently the disk signal information (RAW files) can only be converted to the IPF form playable in emulators here at SPS.

The main reason is that it is really a very complicated process and several things have to be done before we will preserve a disk image anyway. Things like:

  *Ensuring that every part of the disk is described
  *Ensuring there are [[article:importance of data integrity|no errors]]
  *Ensuring that it has [[article:importance of data authenticity|not been modified]]

Only then do we know that we have a disk image that is true to the original mastering and worth preserving.
