====== Can I use my high density disk drive? ======

You can use a genuine Amiga high-density disk drive for imaging disks. However, if you have a high density drive from the "Magic Pack" A1200, with its high density drive, you will need to do some [[faq:imaging disks:a1200 magic pack|modifications]] first.

Unfortunately, the "Power XL" and similar drives, which are actually full speed PC high-density drives with a buffer circuit to control data flow, do not produce accurate results for dumping, and therefore cannot be used.
